Recent Reads: Always the Bride

Always the Bride by Lisa Stanbridge and it is totally amazing in every single way possible. I found the book on a free site called Wattpad. All you need is an email address and BOOM millions of books at your disposal.

*Disclosure: There is a wide range of different quality of books. Some published authors put up bits from their works and other 13 year old girls write fan-fictions. So it all depends on what you like. If you don’t mind some amateur writing that great. If you do that’s fine too! There’s literally a book for everyone*

Always the Bride is one of those books that needs to be published and sold in stores worldwide because it is AMAZING! The story focuses on Teresa who goes through series of situations in order to fill her cravings for her addictions. What is she addicted to? You’ll have to read to find out.

Although the book is full of wonderfully awkward moments and hilarious situations, it tackles concepts that are intense in a way that makes you stop and think about life. Stanbridge shows how addiction can be debilitating, no matter what it is, and how it can take a normal life and throw it into a world of chaos.  She also touches gender roles in families and how dangerous secrets can be.

Even with all of it’s intensities, Always the Bride is a fantastic book that I have reread many times. There’s a little bit of Teresa in all of us, and it is easy to connect with her character on a personal level.

If you have time you should totally check it out! If you don’t have time, you should check it out anyway!
